PLANNING YOUR STAY AT MIKADO NATURAL LODGE

Mikado Natural Lodge is nestled in the hills of San José de Pinilla, Guanacaste, surrounded by tropical forest and offering beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean. We are located just 6 km from Playa Avellanas, one of Costa Rica's most beautiful surfing beaches, and approximately 16 km from Playa Tamarindo.

Check-in is from 3:00 PM and check-out is until 10:30 AM. If you require an earlier check-in or later check-out, please contact us in advance and we will do our best to accommodate your request, subject to availability.

Mikado Natural Lodge features six private bungalows perched on stilts and thoughtfully integrated into the natural surroundings. Some bungalows offer ocean views, while all provide comfort, privacy, and a peaceful connection to nature.

A 4x4 or SUV vehicle is highly recommended, particularly during the rainy season. While the lodge is accessible year-round, a 4x4 provides a more comfortable and stress-free journey on the rural roads leading to the property.

Yes. A freshly prepared breakfast is included with every stay. For guests wishing to dine at the lodge, we offer a three-course dinner experience available by advance reservation. Lunches, snacks, and special requests can also be arranged with prior notice.

Dinner at Mikado is available by advance reservation only, as our meals are freshly prepared with carefully selected ingredients and planned according to the number of guests dining with us.

We kindly recommend reserving your dinner minimum one day before arrival, as we may not always be able to accommodate last-minute requests.

With only six private bungalows, breathtaking ocean views, unforgettable sunsets, an infinity pool, and a peaceful atmosphere away from the crowds, Mikado offers an intimate setting perfect for romantic escapes and honeymoons.

Couples can enjoy relaxing moments by the pool, private dinners, nature experiences, beach sunsets, and the simple pleasure of slowing down together in one of Costa Rica’s most beautiful regions.

We accept major credit cards, bank transfers, and cash payments in US dollars or Costa Rican colones.

Cancellations made more than 15 days before the scheduled arrival date are eligible for a refund. Payments become non-refundable within 15 days of arrival. For stays during the Christmas and New Year's holiday period, cancellations must be made at least 30 days before arrival. Payments are non-refundable for cancellations made within 30 days of the arrival date. Cancellation policies for special promotions, discounted rates, and exclusive offers may vary. Please contact us directly for the terms and conditions applicable to your reservation.

Yes. Guests can enjoy our infinity pool overlooking the Pacific Ocean, a waterfall feature, jacuzzi, and refreshing cold plunge area surrounded by tropical nature. It is the perfect place to relax and enjoy unforgettable sunsets.

Yes, children are welcome at Mikado Natural Lodge. While many of our guests are couples seeking peace, nature, and relaxation, families are also welcome to enjoy the lodge's natural surroundings, spacious outdoor areas, and swimming pool.

Yes. All our bungalows are equipped with air conditioning, allowing guests to enjoy a comfortable stay while surrounded by nature.

To ensure the comfort of all guests and protect the local wildlife, pets are not permitted at Mikado Natural Lodge. If you have specific requirements, please contact us before booking.

Mikado Natural Lodge can be reached from either of Costa Rica's two international airports. The nearest airport is Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (LIR) in Liberia, located approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes from the lodge. Guests arriving at Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) in San José can reach the lodge in approximately 4.5 to 5 hours by car. Private shuttle services can be arranged from either airport directly to the lodge for guests who prefer not to drive. However, we highly recommend renting a vehicle to fully enjoy the region and explore the beautiful beaches, restaurants, and attractions nearby. For greater comfort, especially during the rainy season (June through mid-November), a 4x4 or SUV is strongly recommended. We are happy to provide detailed directions, vehicle rental recommendations, and local travel advice before your arrival.

Absolutely. One of the highlights of staying at Mikado is the opportunity to experience Costa Rica's incredible wildlife right from your bungalow or the pool terrace. Guests frequently observe howler monkeys, tropical birds, iguanas, squirrels, butterflies, and many other species in their natural habitat. 

Yes, complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, allowing guests to stay connected while enjoying the tranquility of nature.

Yes. Our restaurant and panoramic terrace can be privatized for intimate celebrations, family gatherings, small weddings, wellness retreats, birthdays, and other special occasions. Please contact us to discuss your event and personalized arrangements.
